Kōhei is an imaginative artist who included flowers or birds in more than thirty of his intaglio prints. Ten examples are shown below. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Kōhei typically drew the shape of his picture subjects accurately but he simplified their coloring. Consequently, it is often a challenge to identify the species depicted.
